It all started with a simple phrase: "I have a brother!" When Courtney worked with Brian's brother a few years ago, Brandon would playfully suggest that she should meet his brother by jokingly telling her "I have a brother" in hopes that she would take the bait. Unbeknownst to Courtney, all the while Brandon was trying to set Brian up with Courtney by telling him "I have a friend!" After years of this, in the summer of 2020, Brandon texted Courtney asking if he could set her and Brian up on a blind date. The timing felt right for both Brian and Courtney and they agreed it was time to meet. They met at Superior Grill on Saint Charles in New Orleans for a lunch date. In true Brian and Courtney fashion, he showed up 10 minutes early, while she was 20 minutes late. Once they sat down, they talked for three hours straight. They talked about their goals, family, values and what they pictured for their futures. The conversation flowed so effortlessly and they knew they had to see each other again; the rest is history.

It all started with a wonderful dinner at the cozy St. Francisville Inn with a ring burning a hole in Brian's pocket patiently waiting for the right moment to pop the question. Afterwards they went for a walk under the beautifully lit oak trees in the park, but Courtney was feeling cold and said it was time to head home. After settling into the couch in her pajamas with hot chocolate and her favorite movie queued up, Brian decided he couldn't wait any longer. With the lights from the Christmas tree softly illuminating the room he got down on one knee with a smile on his face and only one thought in his heart. The only words he could get out of his mouth being, "I love you so much", he pulled out the ring from his back pocket and asked the only question that was on his mind "Will you marry me?" With tears in her eyes and love in her heart Courtney could only say "Yes!"
