Brian and I met at work. We both worked Wednesday nights and over the course of a few months, we would chat and started to get to know each other. We realized how much we had in common and decided that we would go have tacos and margaritas. Then the texting started. We would text for hours after work and on the weekends. Finally on 7/18/15 during a texting conversation, Brian asked me spontaneously if I would like to go see a movie. We went on our first official date that night to see Jurassic World. Needless to say, the rest is history!
My good friends, Bre and Yolanda, told me that we were going to go out to dinner so that Yolanda could give us some presents she brought us home from Mexico. We got into Bre's car and decided that we would go and eat at Olive Garden since Bre was on her lunch hour. We headed towards the mall which was a little confusing to me because it was the opposite direction of the restaurant. I asked why we were going at the mall. Bre stated that she needed to go and check by the bike racks next to the biking path to see if she could find a piece of a friend's braclet that she lost the previous day. It was at least 94 degrees and after a few minutes of searching and nothing turning up, it was suggested that we take pictures on the bridge. First Bre and I took a couple together and then Yolanda jumped in and we took a couple together. Suddenly I could feel the bridge bouncing up and down, indicating someone or several people were coming up behind us. I turned around and looked back to see a man riding up over the bridge with flowers in the basket of the bike, with what appeared to be kids following behind him with signs. My first thought was that it was some kids selling the flowers for a fund raiser. Taking a second glance, I realized that it was not kids following behind the bike, it was my close girlfriends carrying signs that stated "Will you marry me?". I then realized this was not a random man on a bike, it was Brian!! He rode up to me and said, "Hey babe, would you like to take a ride with me for the rest of our lives?". I looked down and he had the ring that my father gave to my mother 38 years ago that he had cleaned up and dipped in platinum. I immediately said yes! I turned around and then saw my cousin Laura and my friend Adam who had my father on Face time as well! Moments later, my Mom shows up coming straight from the Airport after returning home from a trip. It was an amazing surprise!
