Our Story

Brian and Allison first met at a mutual friends’ wedding, seated at a table full of “misfit” friends of the bride and groom. What started as small talk from across the table quickly turned into something more when Allison invited Brian to move to the seat beside her—and the conversation didn’t slow down. At one point, Brian (ever the social butterfly) made his way around the room to catch up with high school friends. Meanwhile, Allison had to leave early for another wedding—but not before sneaking a glance at the seating chart to learn Brian’s last name. In true millennial fashion (and with a little help from pineapple High Noons and egging on from her best friend), she found him on Facebook, sent a friend request, and followed it up with a message. Over the next month, they exchanged occasional messages. After some health concerns on Allison’s end, she shared her phone number, and in early December, Brian reached out to ask her to grab a drink. Allison asked for a rain check while she studied for her psychologist licensure exam—but after the holidays, she followed up to take him up on it. Brian happened to be in town looking at a house, so Allison drove down to Akron to meet him for a drink at Mr. Zubbs. What was supposed to be a quick meetup turned into a conversation that lasted over three hours. That same night, Brian made an offer on a house—and just a few days later, found out it had been accepted. Not long after, they had their official first date, starting at Brian’s go-to (and Raglow family favorite), the Winking Lizard. Brian swears he could see the disappointment on Allison’s face when he suggested it—though she was far too polite to say otherwise. They ended the night with drinks at the local dive bar, Quarter Up. From a chance meeting at a wedding to a three-hour first drink and a slightly questionable restaurant choice, what started as a simple introduction quickly turned into something neither of them expected—and everything they were looking for.
