They say that timing is everything, and we believe it! Brian was nearing the end of his 2 week solo scuba diving vacation from Chicago that had been deferred from 2 years earlier. while I was nearing the end of my 5 day solo vacation from San Francisco. We were both serendipitously prompted to enjoy the same snorkel tour out to the island of Lanai, Brian by new friends he'd met on the island, and me by my mom, who purchased the trip as a birthday gift. We like to think that fate literally pushed us together as I turned right into him on the boat and after chatting for a few minutes, invited him to join me at a table I had spied. Wait, what??? He DECLINED and sat with his friends!!! But fate stepped right back in because his friends were at the table next to mine so we were back to back. After talking a little more, then partnering up for snorkeling, he smartened up and invited me to a luau that evening. Long story short, after almost 2 years of long distance dating through the rigomorals of COVID, Brian popped the question on the deck of a little B & B in Mendocino, California, overlooking the other side of the Pacific Ocean where we met. It could not have been more perfect. Now we plan to go back to the scene of the crime and full circle, saying our nuptials on the same fleet on which we met. Thank you for being part of our story.
