I can't fully describe how it felt to meet my future wife, the moment is clear, but the mixed bag of emotions I felt that day has led to a story I'm quite fond of and humbled by. By all accounts it was an ordinary meeting, maybe even mundane, and yet I remember. I remember saying hello, I remember seeing her face, I remember my attempts to be friendly, original, and charismatic... I remember feeling like I came off a little lame. I remember doubting what I was wearing and wishing I wore something else, I remember telling myself none of my self-conscious embarrassment mattered because the people I'm meeting today won't remember and aren't important . My friendly aloofness, my well practiced confident facade in front of strangers, it all feels embarrassing remember, but important. Our meeting moment has become immortalized in my mind, my letterman jacket a memory of pride and humility, and that ordinary and almost regretful day has forever since become extraordinary. I remembered the first time I saw Brianah, as we walked by each other. A few weeks later we met, just a few steps from where we passed one another. I met my soulmate on November 6, 2015. It was supposed to be a cold day, I was dressed in my warm green letterman jacket, Brianah in all black with her grey hair to match her impressionable and explorative personality. After we met, nothing happened between us. It wasn't life changing, it was ordinary, life went on.... and extraordinarily, about 3 months later we finally spoke again. As if my life were a cheesy Netflix rom-com, on Valentine's Day we became Facebook friends. God sure loves a good troupe. Brianah has always been a beautiful girl with a beautiful face, but soon I would realize so much more was left for me to discover of her, and very quickly I'd start to endeavor my life to discovering her incredible graceful and beauty. After that day our friend group started to take form, we all started to spend time together. A few months later you could find Brianah and me becoming fast friends, sharing our passion of wine, and stories, and laughter. We spent more time alone together, enjoying each others company as we watched the night sky and imagined future adventures as we grew closer. We journeyed through each other's lives, discovering new passions and rediscovering old ones. We shared a true friendship, deeply seeped in love and virtue, and before the school year was over, even though it was obvious all along... I began to realize that I was in love with Brianah Wong.
