Our wedding dress code is black tie preferred.
A Black Tie Preferred dress code signals that the host strongly encourages formal evening wear like tuxedos for men and floor-length gowns for women, but offers flexibility for a sharp dark suit or elegant cocktail dress as an alternative if full black tie isn't feasible. The goal is elegance and so while tuxedos are ideal, a polished dark navy or charcoal suit with a dark tie (bow or long) and dress shoes is perfectly acceptable, as are cocktail dresses.
