We’re getting married!

Rafael Gonzalez was born in Fort Worth, Tx on November 23, 1992. He grew up playing baseball and continued as he entered his freshman year at Paschal High School in 2007. He went on to join the workforce while graduating with his Associates Degree from Tarrant County College. In Rafael’s free time he enjoys playing golf, hanging out with family, going to the gym, and watching UFC fights. Rafael is a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and is a member of Center Church in Fort Worth, Tx. Briana Barrera was born in Fort Worth, Tx on October 21, 1992. She grew up playing select softball every weekend and continued as she entered her freshman year at Paschal High School in 2007. She went on to graduate from Rhema Bible College where she studied ‘Family Studies’ and the ‘Bible’. Then she graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree from The University of North Texas. In Briana’s free time she enjoys spending time with family, playing board games, traveling, and watching the Dallas Cowboys play! Briana is also a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and is a member of Center Church in Fort Worth, Tx. 🏫 Our High School Love Story… Rafael and Briana met for the first time in the science halls of Paschal High School their freshman year in 2007. Then it was baseball and softball season where they found themselves both competing on the same baseball DIAMOND field. Rafael says that it was his impressive diving catch that caught Briana’s heart. February 17, 2008 Rafael asked Briana to be his girlfriend. The baseball diamond where they fell in love, would soon be made into a reality diamond. 💍 The Proposal… Rafael asked Briana if she’d like to take a trip to visit his brother in New York City. NYC is Briana’s favorite city to travel to so Rafael knew she wouldn’t have trouble saying yes. On September 30, 2021 Rafael planned the most romantic life changing evening of their relationship. He told Briana that they’d be meeting his brother for dinner at a nice restaurant. Prior to the dinner he asked if they could take a walk in Central Park. During their walk Rafael asked Briana to pick out a carriage so they could ride on together. She picked a purple carriage that reminded her of her grandma. ⛲️ Next stop… The Bethesda Fountain! The butler of the carriage told Briana and Rafael to take 15 minutes off the carriage ride for photos around the famous fountain. Rafael started to talk about all of the years of their relationship and his love for Briana. From one moment to the next, RAFAEL DROPPED TO ONE KNEE AND POPPED THE QUESTION! Briana Marie Barrera will you marry me?! Screaming for joy and tears in her eyes Briana yelled YES! Rafael then placed the beautiful diamond ring on her hand and pointed to the top of the staircase. There stood Briana’s entire family and Rafael’s brother cheering them on! Briana had no clue her family was in New York City. 🍝 The newly engaged couple celebrated the night at Polpette restaurant, voted Number 1 Meatball in ALL of NYC! Polpette is featured in countless New York blogs and news outlets Polpette and Nicky Meatballs are some of the biggest names in the NYC Italian cuisine scene! But wait the surprise didn’t stop there… Isabell Barrera, cousin of Briana put together the most beautiful slideshow that would be presented to Rafael and Briana while at dinner hearing and seeing all of their family congratulate them on the engagement all the way from from Fort Worth, Tx. 9.30.21 was a night to remember and the start of their engagement journey!
