We met at a Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball game in February of 2024. We were both in the Club Red area on the concourse of the United Supermarkets Arena with friends. During halftime, our mutual friends, Kris and Kelly McDonald, introduced us. The next day, my friend Jordan Young texted me asking if she could share my number with Kris to give to Phillip so he could text me. I said 'Yes' of course! We hit it off and the rest is history!

We had just gotten back from the grocery store and were going to cook dinner at home. Phillip was working on the grill outside and I was getting things prepped in the kitchen. He kept walking back and forth, but I figured he was just getting things ready for the grilling. Phillip then tried to coax me into going upstairs because he heard a weird "noise" that he wanted me to listen to. I went upstairs into the guest room and there in neon lights was a "Will You Marry Me?" sign! I turned around and he was down on one knee in the doorway. It was perfect! Just the two of us together in the house we are starting our lives together. The best "Yes" I have ever said!
