We suggest looking into other cities if its cheaper. Stay a night or two there, then book an affordable train to Lisbon with no more jet lag! The city is easy to get around. If you want to Uber, train, walk or take a tuk tuk, you should be able to get from place to place easily.

LisboaLisboa

We found extremely affordable places in the heart of Lisbon last year via AirBnB. For reference, the venue is near the Jardim de Estrela, and the dinner is in the historic Alfama neighborhood.

Getting to the VenuesGetting to the Venues

There are several ways to get to the venue. However, the street parking may be difficult. Please see notes below. Also, please note that the post ceremony dinner is located in a different neighborhood. There is more than enough time to travel in which ever style you choose. Metro - the nearest metro station is Rato (yellow line). To go there, go down Travessa do Pinheiro and turn left. Go straight ahead along Rua da Bela Vista, cross the Calçada da Estrela and continue in the same direction, along Rua de S. Bernardo. You will pass Jardim da Estrela and the British Embassy, both to your left, and reach Avenida Álvares Cabral. Turn right and go down until you reach Largo do Rato. It is best to cross to the left side of the Avenida and go that entrance, which is slightly hidden, to your left, in front of a big pink palace. During day time you can go through Jardim da Estrela, which is nicer. In any case, it shouldn’t take you more than 12 minutes walking slowly. Bus – there are lots of buses near THEHOUSE. Either in Lapa, Largo da Estrela or Avenida Álvares Cabral/Largo do Rato, you will certainly find the one you need. Taxi – in Largo da Estrela there is a permanent taxi service so, even if you don’t want to call one, you are sure to have one two minutes away. Tram – the elétrico is of course the most famous mean of transport in Lisboa. Fortunately the best of them all, the 28, stops at the Basilica. From it you will see almost every quarter that makes Lisboa such a special city. Tuk Tuk - Tuk-tuks are often found near popular attractions like Rossio Square, Commerce Square, and near the Alfama district. Similar to taxis, you can hail a tuk-tuk by waving your hand and making eye contact with the drive https://jessicalynnwrites.com/2023/02/tuk-tuk-tours-in-lisbon/
