Ronald and Bria met on May 4, 2019 at Quayle’s, one of Bria's closest friends, masters graduation party. As Bria danced the night away, Ron was smitten. He asked Quayle to introduce him to Bria. When Quayle introduced them, Bria blushed and engaged in light conversation with Ron. Shortly after, they exchanged numbers and started dating. For months, Ron traveled from Richmond, VA to Hampton, VA so that he and Bria could spend time together. Bria accepted a job offer in Richmond that allowed her to move, therefore strengthening the couple’s bond each day after.

On May 4, 2020, Ron planned an intimate anniversary dinner for Bria. When Bria entered their home, she was greeted with smooth tunes of R&B music, a glass of wine, and Jamaican food from their favorite restaurant. As the night went on, Ron asked Bria to go to the bedroom closet to obtain her anniversary gift. Bria, who is an extreme cat lover, thought Ron surprised her with a cat by hiding it in the closet. She searched for about five minutes until she heard Ron say come back out to the living room. Bria walked into the living room to find Ron on one knee with an engagement ring in hand. He’d purchased a beautiful pear shaped ring — the exact diamond cut that Bria desired. He romantically described what Bria means to him and popped the big question. Bria excitedly leaped into Ronald's arms, said yes, and cried tears of joy! To her surprise, Bria noticed that Ron recorded the entire engagement on Instagram live so that the couple could share their beautiful moment with their family and friends.
