The Proposal

10/09/2019

It was our two year anniversary. Little did either of us know that we were both making special plans for the day (looking back now, mine weren't so special!) Brian convinced me to go with his plan. He refused to tell me what that was, but I was pretty excited to concede when he said "think 'Real Housewives'". The morning of our anniversary he brought me to breakfast at our favorite place, Third Alarm Diner. My pancakes were delightful, but I couldn't help but notice that Brian was very distracted by his phone, so much so that I finally had to enforce our family dinner rule of no phones at the table. He looked a little panicked, but he took it well. He then took me to get my hair and makeup done, then my nails. After several hours of being treated like I can only assume Cleopatra was treated, Brian's mom came to pick me up. She brought me back to the house and just a few short minutes later, a limo pulled up out front. I could not believe my eyes. It was only then that I thought "okay, what the heck is going on here". Our limo driver, Dana, said "I'm supposed to bring you to wear you had a picnic that time". Luckily for Brian, I knew exactly what Dana meant: Number One Pond. It was a quick ride there and as we pulled up I saw Brian sitting alone at a picnic table that was decked out with a table cloth, roses, champagne, Dairy Queen Blizzards, Trader Joe's mini peanut butter cups, and Red Bulls. I was completely stunned. Brian met me at the limo and walked me down to the table. After about two minutes of marveling over everything he had done, he stood in front of me and said the sweetest things I've ever heard. Long story short, he got on one knee and proposed!! I cried, he cried, I like to assume our limo driver Dana and the photographer Brian hired who popped out of the woods he had been hiding in to take pictures were crying as well. We took the limo down to Boston where we had a romantic dinner, the perfect end to our perfect day.

For all the days along the way
