Our love story began the way many do these days: with a swipe right. In the spring of 2020, with the world in lockdown, we found each other on Bumble. Our first date was set for the very day Michigan allowed restaurants to reopen—a sign of good things to come. It was perfectly imperfect. We missed our reservation, and ended up at a ramen spot that was only doing takeout. Just as we got our food, the sky opened up and it began to rain. Finding shelter in a nearby park, we ate our ramen, while Aratz talked for hours- though he would say it was mutual. It was unconventional, a little chaotic, and the easiest first date either of us had ever been on. From that day forward, our relationship has been centered around our mutual love for food and adventure. We've traveled the world, making it our mission to discover new food, hunt down hidden speakeasies across the globe, build our gin collection and analyzing Michelin-starred/guided restaurants. Though Aratz's vegetarianism remains a playful point of contention, our shared passions led us to our biggest adventure yet: moving to California in 2022, a place neither of us had ever lived. We can't wait to start this next chapter and celebrate with you all!
