Things To Do

Our wedding venue is located in a charming farm town in eastern CT... in other words, the middle of nowhere. We are encouraging our guests to stay in the Norwich, CT area about a half-hour away. This is where our buses will be shuttling to and from if you are looking to catch a ride the night of the wedding. (Please take advantage if you plan to drink.) See our travel page for lodging recommendations and shuttle info. If you are looking to take a day-trip pre or post the wedding/ are planning to make a weekend out of your travels we'd recommend the Connecticut or Rhode Island shoreline. Find some ideas below and reach out if you want more ideas! We'd be happy to help :)
Mohegan Sun

Mohegan Sun

1 Mohegan Sun Boulevard, Montville, CT 06382

If staying in the Norwich area, whether staying at Mohegan's hotel or not, Mohegan Sun has lots to offer. There are endless shops and restaurants inside, along with comedy shows and live music, bars, night clubs anddddd yes the casino itself. If you're looking to pamper yourself, book a spa service at the spa or visit the nearby Norwich Inn and Spa for another option. If staying at Mohegan's hotel, there are pools and you'll have access to the outdoor terrace.

Tanger Outlets Foxwoods

Tanger Outlets Foxwoods

455 Trolley Line Boulevard, Mashantucket, CT 06338

Foxwoods is another casino 10 minutes away from Mohegan. Here, you’ll find the Tanger Outlets, which is a great place to spend your time and money if you’re not interested in watching the gamblers lose at the Black Jack table :) There is a store for everyone there, from designer to casual. Foxwoods has recently added a Hell’s Kitchen Restaurant and a zip line!

Other Norwich Things to Do

Other Norwich Things to Do

Norwich, CT

Looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the casino? Take a hike to Yantic Falls. In the city itself, we are a fan of These Guys Brewing for a brew and bite. We're hopeful there will be some events for the 4th occurring. Take a peak at the Norwich events website linked below.

Rhode Island Beaches/ Downtown Westerly

Rhode Island Beaches/ Downtown Westerly

Westerly, RI

30-40 minutes from Norwich- If you venture into Rhode Island you will find the true Atlantic, rather than the Long Island Sound you'll find at the CT shore. Watch Hill and Misquamicut are the 2 local beaches and very close to Stonington, CT as well. You will need cash to pay for parking; check the fees prior. At Watch Hill you can spot Taylor Swift's beach house on the cliff. Yes Swifties you heard me right! Misquamicut has a few beach bars if you are looking to celebrate the 4th! Local dining recommendations: Hoofs, Longos, Grey Sail Brewery, Paddy's Beach Bar

Downtown Mystic, CT

Downtown Mystic, CT

Mystic, CT

25 minutes from Norwich- Downtown Mystic, located on the Mystic River is a quaint area with lots of shops, restaurants, boat rides, paddle board rentals and more. Take a side-trip to Mystic Seaport if you like history, a recreated 19th-century seaport town/museum.

Stonington, CT

Stonington, CT

Water St, Stonington, CT

30 minutes from Norwich- Locals would recommend Stonington Borough - Park at the end of the point at Dubois Beach and take in the beautiful water views and stroll down the street filled with quaint shops and restaurants. Local favorites: Dogwatch cafe, Noah’s, Breakwater, drive over to Salt Water Vineyard for some tasty wine

Connecticut Beaches

Connecticut Beaches

East Lyme, Madison, Waterford, CT

20-40 minutes from Norwich- Check out Rocky Neck, Hammonasset, or Harkness Park. The waves are minimal as you'll be in the Long Island Sound. Harkness Park has BEAUTIFUL gardens and tours of the mansions. It is where we took our engagement photos.
