FAQs

The Wedding Website of Brianna Ryder and John Marsico
Question

WHEN IS THE RSVP DEADLINE?

Answer

Due to the limited space at our venue, please let us know if you can or cannot attend as soon as possible, and no later than December 17th, 2026.

Question

When should I plan my trip?

Answer

We’ll be arriving in Mexico City a week before the wedding weekend, and we’d love for you to come early, hang with us, and get to know this wonderful city. At the very least, we recommend that you plan to travel on Wednesday, April 14th, or Thursday, April 15th, if your schedule allows. Since Mexico City sits at a high elevation of 7,349 feet, you may experience some dehydration and fatigue during your first 24 hours. Arriving a day or two early will give you time to acclimate and explore all that this vibrant city has to offer— we'd love for you to make the most of your trip!

Question

IS THERE A WELCOME PARTY?

Answer

We're planning an informal welcome gathering for Thursday evening, April 15th, where we’d love to have you join us after dinner for drinks and celebration. Details will be shared soon. The rehearsal dinner will be Friday, April 16th, in the heart of Roma Norte. More details will be shared soon.

Question

WHAT'S THE DRESS CODE?

Answer

Rehearsal Dinner: Cocktail attire— ties are optional, and any dress length is welcome. Wedding: Formal attire— suit and tie (no need for a tux), and anything from knee to floor length dresses/jumpsuits. Please feel free to be fun and colorful! Please know we are NOT picky about attire but trying to help define because wedding attire terminology can be ambiguous and confusing!

Question

ARE CHILDREN WELCOME AT THE WEDDING?

Answer

As much as we love the little ones in our lives, we've planned this as an adults-only celebration.

Question

CAN I BRING A PLUS ONE?

Answer

Unfortunately due to restricted space at our venue, we have limited seats for who we can invite. Invitations will specify whether or not they include a plus one, but if you have any questions or need to discuss special circumstances, please feel free to contact us.

Question

What about transportation to the events?

Answer

Rehearsal Dinner: More details coming soon. Wedding: We will have shuttles from the Brick Hotel starting at 3pm. Traffic in Mexico City can be rough, so you will need ample time to travel across the city. It is important to note that where the venue is in Centro, no cars are allowed, and you will need to walk 5-10 min to get to the venue after the shuttle drops you off. Due to the walk and the old cobblestones roads, we recommend wearing block heels/comfortable shoes.

Question

HOW DO I GET AROUND MEXICO CITY?

Answer

Don't rent a car in Mexico City or take random cabs, use Uber— it’s reliable and affordable. We will provide shuttle transportation to and from the Brick Hotel to the wedding venue. Also, the city is incredibly walkable!

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests?

Answer

Yes! More details on this soon.

Question

what should i know about MEXICO CITY?

Answer

(1) CDMX = Ciudad de Mexico (aka the shorthand for Mexico City) (2) Mexico City is at high elevation (7,349 ft), and temperatures will be in the high 70s and low 50s. Stay very hydrated during your travel and expect the nighttime to get chilly. If you can, try to arrive at least a day or two before the wedding day to help better acclimate. (3) Besides that, just have a great time! It's an extremely welcoming, vibrant, and safe city (especially in the areas we'll be in). Find more things to do on our "Activities" page.

Question

ARE THE EVENTS WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

Answer

Rehearsal Dinner: We’ll have more information to share here soon. Wedding: Unfortunately the venue is an old seminary built in 1640 and it is not the most accessible (no elevator). However, we want everyone to be involved and will be making accommodations available. The reception will be on the ground floor.

Question

WHY MEXICO CITY?

Answer

Because we are very excited to share a place we love with the people we love. It’s a beautiful, vibrant city with extremely welcoming people— and we always talked about getting married here before we got engaged! We hope you love this wonderful city as much as we do!

Question

DO I NEED TO BRING LOCAL CURRENCY (pesos)?

Answer

Many shops and restaurants accept credit cards, but some businesses are cash only. ATMs are widely available, but when withdrawing cash make sure to decline the conversion within the ATM so your bank will do it for you (this gets you a better conversion rate). If you are just staying for the event weekend, you may not need much cash.

Question

CAN I DRINK THE TAP WATER?

Answer

No, even the locals drink bottled or purified water here. Water and ice ordered in a restaurant or bar will be safe. Essentially, if any server gives you water to drink, you can safely assume it’s purified. We recommend coming prepared with Imodium and/or Pepto-Bismol just in case you get general travel discomfort. You can also find medicine at a local farmacia if needed!

Question

DO I NEED TO KNOW SPANISH?

Answer

While it’s possible to get by without speaking Spanish, as many people speak some English, locals do appreciate an effort to communicate and learning some basic phrases will go a long way. Here’s a useful list for travelers: https://blog.rosettastone.com/102-essential-spanish-phrases-for-traveling/
