On October 20th, 2024 at approximately 07:35PM, Grace along with her housemates arrived ahead of Allison (their other housemate) to their house to set up for her surprise birthday party. When Grace walked through the door, Jonathan was trying to hold it all together as for him, it was love at first sight. Jonathan introduced himself to Grace & talked to her briefly but the night was to celebrate Allison. At the time, Grace didn't have any thoughts & for the majority of the story she was completely oblivious to Jonathan's interest & pursuit. That night Jonathan asked the Lord what to do & the Lord told Jonathan to wait, to trust Him & He will work it all out. The following week the girls were throwing a housewarming party. This night is where Jonathan's pursuit of Grace starts. Jonathan pulled Allison & Jasmine aside & asked them if Grace was talking to anyone & they responded with a ‘no’ & gave some girl advice. They encouraged Jonathan to come around the house more to get to know her. The next day he came to the house & Grace thought he was coming to hang with Jasmine but he really came to see & talk with her. A simple conversation turned into a deep chat & a foundation of friendship. After this, Jonathan & Grace didn't see each other for 10 days which felt like an eternity for Jonathan but on November 7th, 2024 Jonathan came over to the house for dinner with the girls. For the next 5 days Grace & Jonathan saw each other here & there which involved long intentional talks, a bag full of clothes brought to the house late at night & Jonathan eventually telling Grace how he felt. After going on a dinner date they made it official (November 20th). The next 6-7 months were filled with a lot of laughter, learning each other, being refined, long walks & everything in between. At the end of April 2025 Grace felt the Lord tell her that He wanted time with them separately so they decided to take some time apart as they headed into summer. Jonathan was gone on an 8 week mission trip while Grace was spending her summer shooting weddings & then on a 3 week mission trip in July. The time apart was challenging but allowed for the Lord to do a deep work in both of them. He truly showed them a love for Him that overflowed into a love for each other. And when Jonathan & Grace got back from their mission trips, they decided to circle back on their relationship. In Grace's words "we were able to fall in love again with a person we already knew that we deeply loved." So, on November 16th, 2025 Jonathan asked Grace if she would be his forever & he would be hers forever. & that is how a Guatemalan boy fell in love with a blonde-blue eyed girl.
