Puerto Rico is a tropical destination so expect some humidity & lots of sun. While there may be some passes of rain & clouds here and there, it quickly passes. So pack for hot weather :)
We both suggest an airbnb or boutique hotel stay in Old San Juan to really immerse yourself into the local experience & culture. We have always used Airbnb during our stays and have always had great experiences feeling like we live in the old city. Old San Juan Airbnb options are really good for groups. ** We do advise that you make sure your airbnb is in Old San Juan and not in the La Perla neighborhood.** There are a variety of both airbnb and boutique so you cant really go wrong. For those who dont want the airbnb/boutique hotel experience, there is also a Sheraton Hotel located by the water of OSJ. Of course, there are standard hotel stays found in nearby Condado area of San Juan which is about 15minutes outside of Old San Juan. There you will find your usual hotel chains.
YES! We are currently in the process of figuring out some weekend plans for all to join in on during this trip. We are focused on making these plans not just fun but money conscious as we are aware(and THANKFUL) that everyone is already spending money to even be there for us for our big day. ❤️
We suggest flying into PR early to mid Friday (8/4) to give yourself time to settle in but also spend some time exploring the city ahead of the wedding Sunday. **To our west coast friends & family, we advise booking an overnight flight. That way you arrive the next day morning or afternoon. We always find that sleeping the first leg and arriving to our east coast connection in the am makes the travel easier.
