Things To Do

For those traveling from out of town looking for extra activities to do while visiting. Here are some of our favorite northern neighborhood spots close to home, along with some options closer to the venue.

Pizza Art Cafe

4658 North Rockwell Street, Chicago, IL 60625

Casual spot for pizza, pasta, and BYOB. Order one pepperoni and one margarita pizza and they may suspect we sent you.

Lawrence Fish Market

3920 W Lawrence Ave, Chicago, IL 60625

Counter-service & cash-only sushi and fish market. Serves a variety of fresh, high-quality sushi, nigiri, and sashimi. It is our shared opinion that Lawrence Fish has some of the best sushi in the city.

Butcher and the Bear

2721 North Halsted Street, Chicago, IL 60614

Romantic speakeasy meets premium steakhouse. Butcher and the Bear is our go-to for date nights.

The Green Mill

4802 N Broadway, Chicago, IL 60640

The Green Mill Cocktail Lounge is known for its jazz performances and ties to the Chicago mob. This historic bar and entertainment venue is said to be the oldest club in the city.

Lincoln Park Conservatory

2391 N Stockton Dr, Chicago, IL 60614

This brilliant Victorian Era glass structure is home to thousands of exotic plants, plus outdoor gardens and fountains. Reservations are free and required to enter.

RAMEN-SAN

59 W Hubbard St #2, Chicago, IL 60654

Neighborhood noodle joint that slings hot broth, sushi, and ice-cold beer. We love the curated menu of ramen and small plates. Voted Chicago Reader's best ramen in the city.

The Art Institute of Chicago

111 S Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60603

The Art Institute collects, preserves, and displays works in every medium from all cultures and historical periods. We first visited the museum together in 2020 at the start of our relationship and it was recently the location for our engagement photos.

Field Museum

1400 S Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60605

The Field Museum of Natural History is home to 40 million specimens and artifacts - including SUE, the world's most complete Tyrannosaurus rex.

Andy's Jazz Club & Restaurant

11 E Hubbard St, Chicago, IL 60611

Live jazz featured in a classy, intimate lounge offering dinner. Reservations required.

The Chicago Riverwalk

Located on the south bank of the Chicago River, the pedestrian-friendly Chicago Riverwalk stretches 1.25 miles from Lake Michigan to Lake Street. Along the way you’ll discover intimate coves, breezy cafes, wineries and bars, public art, monuments, museums, and a boatload of excursions on the water.
