Jennifer and Kevin met Garbanzo in February of 2020, when they decided to start fostering dogs. They specifically chose the wackiest-looking dog at the meet & greet, to be sure they wouldn't "foster fail" and accidentally adopt the dog after fostering. Garbanzo came with his name and also came with a broken jaw and heartworm disease. After nursing him back to health, Kevin and Jennifer realized he's the sweetest, most docile dog they've ever seen and they had to adopt him. Garbanzo's tongue and different-colored eyes make him very popular everywhere he goes. He now volunteers with Therapy Pet Pals of Texas. He enjoys brightening people's day at the hospice center and helping college students de-stress at the local Austin universities during exam weeks. Jennifer and Kevin's favorite memories with Garbanzo are going for walks on the trail with him in his dog stroller, and sneaking him into a hotel in a duffel bag. Garbanzo's favorite memories with his parents are sunbathing in the lawn, sleeping all day, and finding poop in the lawn then casually sitting next to it until his parents look away so he can sneak a taste.
