This love story starts at Martha B. King Middle School in Bradenton when Jordan was sharing a Cheerwine soda with her classmates at their assigned lunch table. Joey, sitting at a different table, was curious what the "cute girl with the cool soda" was sharing but was a tad bit too timid to ask. They ended up in art class together the same year but again, were assigned to different tables. It is believed that the most communication the two shared at this time was a phone number exchange in each other’s yearbooks for the 7th and 8th grade. With friend groups overlapping, similar to a venn diagram where Joey and Jordan were in the outer circles, they continued on to Manatee High, where Jordan was on the dance team and Joey on the soccer team. They graduated in 2012 and went off to college in opposite directions. Although their stories are very different in the 10 years leading up to their reintroduction, their journeys through life were very similar to one another.  Fast forward to the summer of 2023. Joey, back on Anna Maria Island selling real estate, was waiting for a client that was running behind. Usually, he would get to the property early to prepare for the showing, but the unit was occupied, and he decided to wait across the street at a local bar. Once seated at the far end of the bar, Joey recognized a familiar face making a cocktail for another patron. Little did he know, Jordan had moved back to Bradenton two weeks prior and was working a temporary job while figuring out where she wanted to move next. She greeted him with “Hey, what are you doing here?” and Joey quickly replied back with “No, what are YOU doing here?” They exchanged numbers (realizing then that they both still had each other saved in their contacts from the school years) and set a plan to meet the following Thursday for a drink. Thursday evening came around, and that casual “after-work drink” quickly turned into a legitimate first date. Joey secured a second date midway through, and well…you know the saying.  We are beyond thrilled to have you, our closest family and friends, surround us during the most exciting chapter of our lives.
