Where is Kiawah Island Golf Resort Located? Kiawah Island is a ten-mile island running parallel to the South Carolina coast. The island is a mere 21 miles from historic downtown Charleston, South Carolina. Its approximately a 45 minute drive to and from downtown. What airport do I use? And how far are you from that airport? The closest commercial airport to Kiawah Island Golf Resort is the Charleston International Airport (CHS). We are just 32 miles—around 40-45 minutes—from CHS. We do provide custom transportation to and from the airport though the resort. You can uber/lyft to the resort, but be advised they are not allowed to pick up from the resort.

There are many options when staying at Kiawah. The staff is very helpful when trying to decide what may be best for you. There are multiple houses and villas besides the hotel located on the Island. These can be booked through the resort itself or through Airbnb or VRBO. By booking through the resort you do get whats shown below as noted on their site. Charleston International Airport

The closest commercial airport to Kiawah Island Golf Resort is the Charleston International Airport (CHS). We are just 32 miles—around 40-45 minutes—from CHS. We do provide custom transportation to and from the airport at a very competitive rate. Additionally, the Charleston Executive Airport (JZI), located on nearby Johns Island, is a convenient option for travelers utilizing private jet services.

This is another option than the resort hotels/villas themselves. It is located on the island and offers another option to stay.

Travel Note

Transportation

If you are flying into the Charleston airport, you can take an Uber or Lyft into resort itself. It is much easier to arrange transportation with a charter company or transportation company when leaving the island. At certain times or Lyft may not be allowed to pick up from the island and can be difficult. While on the island itself, if you are staying through Kiawah you may use the complementary transportation shuttle. This includes to and from the wedding. It can be used to travel throughout the resort to the pool or golf courses.
