Providence Station has frequent trains through Amtrack and MBTA (Boston). To get to Providence from Boston, you can take Amtrack or MBTA Commuter Rail from South Station in Boston, and travel time ranges from 35 minutes to just over an hour. Those traveling from New York City can take the Amtrak from Penn Station to Providence, which takes about 3-3.5 hours.

If taking public transportation, you would take the Silver Line MBTA bus to South Station, where you can take the Amtrak or MBTA Commuter Rail to Providence Station.
