We’re getting married!!

Dan and I met through mutual friends. He is a dj for local venues in downtown Grand Rapids. I enjoyed the music he played and several of our friends would always follow him to different events that he played. We became good acquaintances. Life went by and it wasn't until April of 2020 (the first round of covid) when he reached out to me asking how I was doing. We began talking more and more. He asked me if we could do dinner sometime soon. I smiled, and of course said yes. We had a nice takeout dinner at my place. During the pandemic, we were able to spend what seemed like endless amount of time together. We really got to know each other and were able to have both fun and serious conversations. I would say this time allowed us to begin and grow our relationship. May 29, 2020 was when Dan asked me to be his girlfriend officially. This took place on top of a sand dune in Grand Haven, one of our favorite places to go to. He played one of our favorite songs (Without Me by Halsey). My answer was of course, YES!!

A random Wednesday date night turned into a beautiful night. I knew as soon as I heard (you guessed it) Halsey "Without Me" something was up. Dan surprised me with the proposal at Windsnest Park on Lake Michigan with our photographer present as well as our families. We went to Beachwood Grill after and celebrated with family. It was a night I'll never forget.
