Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We’d love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day! Dress code for Sunday is black-tie preferred with a black color scheme. We would appreciate if ladies wear a black colored formal dress and gentlemen wear a black or dark gray tux or suit. Since a portion of our wedding will take place outdoors on grass, we suggest refraining from wearing stiletto heels.

Is there transportation to/from the venue?

Answer

While Stella is a unique and scenic venue, it’s also far from the center of New Orleans. To make sure your travel is simple and convenient, there will be a free shuttle service to and from the celebration. There's no need for reservations – just join us at either of these two pickup locations: 1. Holiday Inn - 2261 N Causeway Blvd, Metairie or 2. Hotel Monteleone - 214 Royal St, New Orleans. Getting there: Shuttles will leave from Holiday Inn and Hotel Monteleone at 2 PM, guaranteeing a smooth ride to our venue. Getting back: All return shuttles will stop at both hotels. The first shuttle heads back at 10 PM, with others following as they fill up, until the last at 12:30 AM. Ubers and Lyfts will be very hard to find in Braithwaite, so we strongly recommend catching one of the shuttles back to New Orleans.

Question

Where are the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception taking place?

Answer

The wedding festivities will be held on-site at Stella Events & Adventures, about 10 miles south of New Orleans. The wedding ceremony and selected elements of the cocktail hour and reception will be held outdoors, weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather, alternative arrangements have been made to ensure the seamless continuation of the celebration.

When will the reception end? Will there be an after party to celebrate NYE?

Answer

Our reception will conclude at 10 PM with our grand exit. For those who would like to ring in the new year with us, an after party at the same location will follow and continue until midnight :)

Can I bring additional guests?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests and/or children who received a formal invitation. Names of the specific guests invited are included on the RSVP page of our website.

What kind of refreshments will be served?

Answer

An open bar will be provided throughout the evening. Passed hors d'oeuvres will be enjoyed during cocktail hour, followed by a seated dinner featuring a combination of classic New Orleans cuisine and Sydney-approved foods :)

I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

Answer

How do I RSVP?

Answer

A formal RSVP is available through the "RSVP" tab of our website and we kindly request your reply by August 31, 2023. Please reach out to Sydney (443-619-3997) if you have any questions and/or require any assistance with the RSVP page.

What time should I arrive to the venue on Sunday?

Answer

Please arrive at the venue at 3:30 PM. Welcome drinks and entertainment will be provided for guests to enjoy prior to the start of the ceremony.

Is parking available at the wedding venue?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of free parking on-site at the venue! We still encourage carpooling or utilizing the provided hotel shuttles, as ride-share services will be hard to come by on NYE in Braithwaite.

Can I post photos from the wedding weekend on social media?

Answer

Yes! We encourage guests to post pictures/videos on their social media, our only request is that you tag us and include our wedding hashtag, #BRETTerTogether, so we can keep track of the memories you captured.

What weather should we expect?

Answer

The average temperature in New Orleans in late December is in the mid 50s. Please check the forecast closer to the event and dress in layers for the evening. Arrangements have been made at the venue in case of inclement weather.

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is a gift in itself! For those inclined to give more, please contribute to our registry located on the "Registry" tab of our website.
