Brette was out with a few friends for a birthday celebration, and they stopped at the bar across the street from her apartment - Zio's Alley Bar. Kyle showed up, lugging in all his music gear while trivia finished up. He ordered a beer next to them, and they started chatting about trivia. Kyle mentioned that he was going to play music afterwards if we wanted to stay and listen, which they did. At one point Kyle awkwardly told them over the mic that he'd recently moved to Denver and needed friends. They didn't exchange numbers then, but Brette went back to the bar a few weeks later to see him play again, they finally exchanged numbers, and have basically been inseparable ever since.

We were in Cape Cod for a few days together, in between some friend time in Boston and a wedding the next weekend. We took a dune hike in Provincetown, and ended up alone on an empty beach with a bunch of sea lions and crashing waves. Kyle had a wooden ring he made from wood from his childhood home and some turquise from Brettes uncle. It didn't fit, but Brette still said yes!
