Wrightsville Beach - This beach is 20min from the historic downtown and has restaurants on the harborside. Carolina Beach - This beach is a little further from the historic downtown (25min), but has more restaurants and bars that you can hop around to (This is our recommendation if you only have time for one) *** Would recommend Ubering even if you have a car because finding parking at either beach is difficult***
This area is a 6min drive, but a great place to spend an afternoon. This district is very unique as it is made out of shipping containers and shows off New Wilmington. - The Starling (cocktail bar) - Cheesesmith (Grilled Cheese Shop) - Bull City (Ciders on tap) - Alcove (Bar) - And even more local shops and restaurants
Underfront Co. (cocktail bar and live music) - 265 N Front St. The Ivey in the Alley (Bar and great throwback music) - 10 Wilkinson Alley
Take a stroll down Front Street and pop into local shops & markets like the Old Wilmington City Market or the Cotton Exchange.
If you have more time, there is boating, war history, and film/tv history tours (any One Tree Hill fans?).
If you like s'mores and espresso martinis this is the place for you!
For our 90s babies- Sleepy Hollow and Dawnson's Creek was filmed here
