There are several amazing places to grab a couple of cocktails & eat on the island. Most options are located in the golf club houses, Freshwater Village or The Sanctuary Hotel. Some of our favorite: Our favorite is the Ryder Cup Bar at the Ocean Course (casual) The Co-Op (our go to drinks to hit the beach when we're in Charleston, must try!) Cantina 76 (tacos) Java Java (this place gets a special shoutout because it is our favorite coffee shop) Loggerhead Grill (poolside) Jasmine Porch (relaxed) The Ocean Room (upscale) Cherrywood BBQ & Ale House (relaxed) FortyEight (wine bar) Beaches & Cream (coffee, ice cream & Sandwiches) Hege's (French) La Tela (pizza)
The Kiawah Island golf resort has five golf courses including the world-famous Ocean Course (host of the legendary 1991 Ryder Cup Matches and 2012 and 2021 PGA Championships) to challenge your game. Golfing with the Groom: Brett has reserved a block of tee times at Ocean Course beginning at 7:30 am on Friday, March 17th. Please contact Brett or Megan if you are interested. Please note, we have to finalize the list 30 days prior to wedding weekend. Hope to see many of you there!
Just 5 minutes from the Kiawah Island main gate, this lovely and walkable shopping center has many restaurants, shopping, bars and a fully stocked grocery store for any of your needs, as well as many locations for “retail therapy.”

Call ahead to make an appointment!
Typically, it is a 30 to 40-minute journey from Kiawah to downtown Charleston but worth the drive. Downtown Charleston is one of our favorite places in the world!
