In the fall of 2021, our paths crossed when Kylee began her first year of medical school in Peoria, IL, and Brett was a second-year student. From the moment we met, our connection was undeniable, and we quickly became inseparable. Over the past 2 1/2 years, we've grown not only as individuals but also as a couple, supporting each other through the rigors of medical school and pushing each other to achieve our dreams. Despite the challenges, including a year living apart while Brett pursued a research fellowship in orthopedic surgery in Chicago and Kylee navigated her intense third-year clinical curriculum, our bond only deepened. The extra effort we put into making our time together special strengthened our relationship in ways we couldn't have imagined. Together we love to travel, go to the gym, cook new meals, and watch movies with our cat, Axel. We've also spent countless nights studying side-by-side, or doing practice questions together on facetime. We really don't care what it is we are doing as long as we're doing it together. In July of 2024, amidst the love and support of family, Brett proposed during a heartfelt dinner at Michael's Tavern and Steakhouse in Kylee's hometown in northern Michigan. Now, as we embark on a whirlwind final year of medical school and await the announcement of our residency placements, we are brimming with excitement and anticipation. Though the future holds uncertainty, we are confident that no matter where our individual paths lead, we will always find home in each other. Our journey together, fueled by our love and shared dreams, is just beginning, and we can't wait to embrace every moment of it as husband and wife. We feel so blessed to experience this once-in-a-lifetime love.
