Brett was a bartender at the Brewster Ice Arena. 4 years ago, Kyle walked into the bar after a long day of work at APA. Although he was dirty from work (understandably so), there was something that caught Brett's eye. After a few more times of visiting the bartender, Kyle finally asked Brett on a date. He took her to Max 40 Steakhouse in Danbury, CT. She was so nervous she spilled half of her martini across the table. Somehow, Kyle thought she was still cute and the rest was history!!
Kyle came home to NY for a long weekend. The couple spent every day together like they normally do when Kyle is home on leave. Kyle drove Brett to class one morning and waited at WCSU for her to finish. Afterwards, they headed to The Blazer Pub in Somers to eat the best wings around. Lunch was followed by a scenic walk at the Constitution Marsh in Cold Spring, this was a place where they spent time together when they first met. Kyle asked Brett to turn around so he could take a picture, when she turned back around, he was down on one knee. Brett was speechless (and also can't remember much of the heartfelt things Kyle said). The proposal was followed by a surprise hangout at the Peekskill Brewery where one by one, her close friends began showing up. The celebration was in full affect the rest of the weekend!!
Yes, it is true. Kyle and Brett got married on June 30, 2021 before Kyle's second deployment. They had an intimate ceremony at the Somers courthouse, with close family and friends. The ceremony was followed by a delicious dinner and LOTS of drinks. We are so excited to celebrate our love with everyone else that is special to us. November 12, 2022 can't come soon enough!!
