We have been looking forward to this day for so long, and we are so excited that it is coming soon. You are all so dear to us, and we are looking forward to celebrating our love with each of you!
If you had asked us in high school what college we would attend, Brett would have likely told you Penn State, and Julia, the University of Illinois. However, as we each arrived at Indiana University for our campus tours, we both couldn't turn down the beautiful campus we saw. So, in August 2016, we moved into the same floor of the Kelley Living Learning Center at Indiana University to start our Freshman year, and this is where our story begins. After a few months of study sessions, football games, and trips to the dining hall for dinner with our roommates, it became clear to us both that our friendship was meant for more. At the beginning of 2017, we officially started dating!
While in college, we were involved in a business fraternity together, where we met many lifelong friends. We spent countless hours studying and playing the crossword at our favorite coffee shop, Crumble, attended football and basketball games, took a few fun trips for business fraternity formals and to visit friends studying abroad, and went to many, many concerts at the Bluebird. We are so grateful for our time at IU and all of the friends we made along the way.
After "graduation" in 2020, Brett moved to Florida to start his job, while Julia started her job in Chicago. Long distance wasn't a part of our plan, but it turned out to be a great blessing as Brett made lifelong friends while in Florida, and our relationship grew to be even stronger. In 2022, Brett moved to Chicago, ending our two-year stint of long distance. Since then, we've enjoyed each moment together, never taking for granted that we are no longer 1,300 miles from each other. We've explored many new cuisines in Chicago, taken up a love for farmers markets, and spent precious time with our family and friends.
It is clear to us that from the beginning, God has been planning for us to be together. Despite almost choosing different schools, the many challenges college brings, two years of long-distance, and discovery of faith, He has strengthened us as individuals and a couple, making this wedding possible. All the Glory and Praise to Him. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
