Gianna and Brett technically met before ever setting foot on a boat. They met at Brett’s house party, just days before they were both set to embark on a sailing trip through Croatia with mutual friends. They had already become Instagram friends (as one does), having realized they’d be sharing a yacht together, and Gianna had a feeling they’d hit it off. Unfortunately, Brett was a little too busy “hosting” his party to notice. Fast forward one month later: sun-soaked days, saltwater swims, and a sailing yacht cruising along the Croatian coast. Somewhere between island hopping and life at sea, Brett suddenly found himself always a step behind Gianna, claiming the seat next to her, and finding any excuse to be nearby. After a few days of not so subtle pursuit, Gianna finally decided to give him a chance. The rest, as they say, is history. They’ve been together ever since August 2021, now living in Chicago with their two dogs, Shania and Sammy. They laugh a lot, love deeply, and can’t wait to spend forever together, preferably somewhere near the water.
