Less casual: Mas Tapas, Tavola, Bang!, The Local, Tavern & Grocery, Farm Bell Kitchen, The Whiskey Jar, Ten, Hamiltons’ at First & Main More casual: Brazos Tacos, Bodo's Bagels, Jack Brown's, Ivy Provisions, Roots Other: Albemarle Baking Company (great for all baked goods, and if you’re in the mood for a treat, try the princess cake or cupcakes), Lampo (best pizza in town but reservations are not available and wait times can be long), Grit (our favorite coffee shop)
The Alley Light, South Street Brewery, Kardinal Hall, The Fitzroy, Miller's If you’re in the mood for a college bar on the Corner, try Trinity Irish Pub or Coupe’s.
Vineyards: Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards, King Family Vineyards, Bleinheim Vineyards, Veritas Vineyards and Winery Breweries: Blue Mountain Brewery, Devil's Backbone Basecamp Brewpub *Note that some of these locations are farther out from Charlottesville than others, so be sure to check the drive times when planning an excursion!
Carter Mountain Orchard and Country Store: Grab some cider and donuts and watch the sunset on the Blue Ridge Mountains! Golf: Book a round at Birdwood Golf Course, attached to Boar’s Head Resort and home of the UVA Golf Team. For a more casual option, play at Meadowcreek. Humpback Rock: A favorite hike among UVA students, especially for beautiful views of the sunrise if you're up for it! It’s a short but strenuous one mile hike to the top. The Grounds of UVA: UVA has beautiful grounds - head to the Lawn to see the Rotunda. It's a great place for a picnic or just a walk. The school year won't have started yet, so it shouldn't be too busy. Monticello: Take one of the many historical tours offered at Thomas Jefferson's plantation, about ten minutes away from the center of Charlottesville. Ragged Mountain Natural Area: Just ten minutes from downtown Charlottesville, take a hike around a beautiful reservoir.
