We can't wait to celebrate with you

We met in the dorms our freshman year. One night, a friend wanted to do a little night hike up South Table Mountain and we decided to join her. Arsya held a hand out to Brett (it was dark and he slipped! Even though he won't admit it) and he took it, and the rest is history. We also declared the same major at the end of freshman year, so we were naturally inseparable.

Arsya had been pestering Brett about proposing for a while at this point (it's been 8 years, after all!), but what she didn't know was that he had it all planned out. Arsya planned the ambitious task of hiking the Manitou Incline, and Brett took advantage of that plan. When they got to the top of the hike, while Arsya was catching her breath, Brett scouted a spot for him to pop the question. It was a wonderful surprise, and it was worth the hike!
