In less than a month, Brett and Ariel both swiped right on the dating app Hinge, and made plans to meet up on a Sunday evening for dinner. Ariel was already out with friends and almost rescheduled, but something pulled her in the direction and she left to change and head towards the restaurant. Brett will never forgot the moment she walked in, it felt like he knew her already. He noticed her putting her phone away and even her Apple Watch, and they were in the moment together. They did a wine tasting and enjoyed dinner with amazing conversation, but they didn't want the night to end. They went to another restaurant and then went to meet her friends at a nightclub and finished the night out. Since then, there hasn't been a day where they haven't spoke and been on each others minds.

Brett was originally planning to ask the week before their annual trip back home to Minnesota to celebrate the holidays with his family, but when he purchased the ring, he became overjoyed with the idea that Ariel was going to be his fiancé. While she was out of town and speaking with her mom Trisha and her coworker and bridesmaid Candace, they came up with a plan to move to ask up a weekend. To make sure everything was special, Brett made sure her nails were done and while Ariel was tired (and help from Trisha), had Ariel come to RH. Brett's goal was to always have it be a surprise, and little to Ariel's knowledge, the entire restaurant was in on it. Instead of going to the bathroom, he had the manager record the special moment and dropped to one knee and proposed. Ariel said yes and stayed in shock for the rest of the weekend, and they ended up finishing the night out at L.A. Jackson with sparklers and a champagne toast!

Brett's favorite is the little moments where they were in the moment together. He will never forget laughing uncontrollably before bed, talking about personal things and quizzes on road trips, and spending time on the couch with their dogs Kora and Kota. While the trips and being together with friends has always been special, it's the one on one moments that Brett will always cherish and keep close to his heart forever.
