April and Brett met in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan while cliff jumping into Lake Superior. Brett was almost too afraid to jump but wanted to impress April and knew he had to go for it. They both jumped off together and into a new friendship. After Brett had gotten to know April, he asked her out on a date. April remembers how smart and nice Brett was. With much excitement and his surprise, she said yes. Now they ready to take the next jump into marriage!

Their first date was at the Crowfoot to see the Bad Bad Hats live. This was one of Brett’s favorite bands and shortly after one of Aprils. They have now attended more than 3 Bad Bad Hat concerts together. At the end of the date April went to kiss Brett in the parking lot. He pulled back and went "Did you just try to kiss me?" before leaning in and kissing her back. Brett knew she was the one.
