After growing up as strangers just a few hundred feet apart for nearly a decade, Anna and Brett finally met up for a drink. Sneaking Out Before The World Shut Down His first week happened to fall on his birthday, so naturally, he proposed that Anna come visit and help him celebrate. It's not exactly every parent's dream to hear "I met a new guy and we're going to South America together for a week" but Anna's parents couldn't have been more thrilled at the prospect of such an adventure. Anna and Brett had an incredible time, spending the week taking in the culture of Medellín and the beauty of the surrounding coffee country. They enjoyed a perfect "bubble of bliss" during their magical time there, only to be greeted with panic and the world shutting down as the week came to a close. The day after Anna left, the seriousness of the global pandemic escalated nearly overnight, and on a last minute decision, Brett caught the VERY last flight out of Colombia to come hunker down back home in Florida.

(TLDR: Anna is oblivious; Brett is the cutest) Despite lockdowns and the constant question of how life would look in a few months, Anna and Brett grew their love over the following two years and Brett started planning his attack in late 2021. His sister Ashley helped him pick out the perfect ring and organize a trip to Hawaii, where he ironed out the details for the proposal. Anna opened a small envelope on Christmas 2021 and was none the wiser what her surprise vacation had in store... (One detail - Anna having her nails done despite her protests - required Brett to convince her that he wanted to get his first manicure and was nervous to go alone.) Two days later, he woke her up at 5am to do a hike with "really amazing views" and convinced her she should "wear something cute for the pictures". After a 30 minute unexpectedly grueling hike, the stage was set. Brett got down on one knee and asked Anna to spend forever with him, and she said YES! They popped champagne and watched a magical Hawaiian sunrise before spending the day on the beautiful North Shore, beginning the rest of their beautiful life together.
