Groom's Tisch

5:15 pm - 5:45 pm

The Groom's "Tisch" is a pre-ceremony custom where men are invited to join the groom for one final celebration before the Chuppah! Typically at the Tisch, the groom is presented with the Ketubah (Jewish wedding contract), and read his obligations as a husband. In addition to that, his friends gather to share memories and stories of cherished times with the groom. While not all groom's opt for a Tisch, Brett invites you to join him, our rabbi, his groomsmen, and his closest family members for a lively celebration with light bites and drinks before the ceremony. After the Tisch, you'll join Brett in a procession to meet Izzy at the Badeken! If you'd like to join Brett, head over to the RSVP tab.

Bride's Badeken

5:15 pm - 6:00 pm

Before the Badeken comes Hachnasat Kallah, which is a pre-ceremony custom where women are invited to greet the bride before the Chuppah! This tradition is an exciting way to greet the bride and share exuberance and joy with her on this special day. While not all bride's opt for this tradition, Izzy invites you to join her, her bridesmaids, and her closest family members in this cheerful custom. After Hachnasat Kallah, Brett will be escorted by the most important men in his life to greet Izzy at her Badeken, complete with music, singing, shouting, and dancing! With an exchange of words, Brett will veil Izzy, and then recess to wait for her at the Chuppah. The custom of veiling the bride expresses the idea that above physical appearance, the groom is drawn to his bride’s inner beauty. If you'd like to join Izzy, head over to the RSVP tab.
