It was 9 pm, and I, Bretley, was in my dorm room ready to go to sleep. I had wiped my makeup off and taken my hair out of french braids when I heard a knock at my door. I debated on ignoring it, but I knew EXACTLY who it was and knew she wouldn’t leave. It was my best friend, Taylor. She asked me if I wanted to go bowling with her, her man, and his friends. Obviously I said no. She insisted and begged me until I was annoyed. Eventually, she said she would go alone. I couldn’t let that happen because she hadn’t been with this guy very long and hadn’t met his friends. I threw on some jeans, did something crazy with my hair, put a little bit of makeup on, and borrowed one of her tank tops. Needless to say, I wasn’t trying to find my husband that night. It wasn’t until we were almost to the bowling alley that she tells me there is a guy named Bryce that will be there and he’s really cute. I said, “Why didn’t you tell me that when I was throwing random clothes on?” We get to the bowling alley, and Taylor’s man, Jonathan, introduced us to his friends, but none were Bryce. We were bowling, and Taylor came up to me to tell me Bryce just got there, so I looked over and HUBBA BUBBA! He was handsome, but I pretended like I didn’t care. Fast forward, Bryce and I talked and joked all night. When it was time to leave, Bryce and I decided to go to the club, but no one else wanted to go. I took a leap of faith that my parents would kill me for and got in the car with a guy I had just met to go to the club. We hung out LITERALLY all night. We left the club at 3 AM, went to IHOP, then to the dorm parking lot and talked all night long. It was a school night, and I had to go to clinic that morning. When it was time for me to leave, I went up, changed into my scrubs, and left with NO sleep. The rest is history.... Later, we found out that neither one of us wanted to go bowling that night, but yet we both did and met each other, so we like to think that it was meant to be.
