Rebecca and Bret found each other the old fashioned way, on the internet. Becca broke the ice by asking Bret Pizza or Tacos? Becca should’ve known right there and then that she was never going to get a straight answer from him when Bret answered with “both”. They shared their first of many drinks at Flying Fish brewery and hit it off. After their first few dates Becca was headed up to Vermont with some friends and Bret magically was headed up there too. Becca was suspicious that he was following her up there but Bret swears he had the trip planned first…(this was the first of many agree to disagree moments). 2 days of gondola rides and a shared ability to shred the “fresh powder” was the true start of their relationship (we use shared ability lightly as Bret would fly in and out of the woods while Becca stayed on the open slopes). Then came the good stuff! Many more shared beers at brewery’s, months worth of puzzles and video games while locked up during Covid, adopting their adorable husky Yoda, and celebrating milestones together like new jobs, promotions and moving in together. There was some tough stuff too. Bret being away for an extended time on orders and Becca being between jobs while trying to finish a masters degree. They know that there will be some more tough stuff and a lot more good stuff and it all makes their relationship ready for the next big step, and that’s getting married in front of all of their loved ones.
