Bret and Nikki first met at Snap Fitness. Nikki was working the front desk when Bret came into the gym to work out. While Nikki was talking with some of the other gym members, Bret came right up to *purposely* interrupt and ask her for a pair of scissors to open his headphones. Nikki was so caught off guard (or flustered) that she was looking all over for the pair of scissors that were right in front of her. Later on while Nikki was taking out the trash, Bret ran to open the door for her and helped her take it out. That's when she knew he was something special. A few days later they met up at the gym to workout together, which ended with them spending hours talking in the Snap Fitness parking lot.

Bret and Nikki have been together for 7 years and always talked about getting married. They looked at rings in May 2017. On Easter 2018 (which also happened to be April Fools Day) Bret decided that it was the day. Surrounded by Nikki's family at her grandma's house, Bret got down on one knee and popped the question! Of course, Nikki said YES and everyone shared a champagne toast!
