Castle Rock offers an array of activities. There are many hiking trails, the historical downtown area, and the outlets if you want to do a little shopping. If you will be here the day before or after the wedding, these are some things you might enjoy.
We recommend coming into Colorado Springs Airport or Denver International Airport. The Groome shuttle travels through both of these airports and has a drop-off location in Castle Rock. Both airports also offer rental car services. Unless you plan on carpooling with another guest to the wedding venue, we recommend getting a rental car since Castle Rock does not have an in-town shuttle service or bus, and Uber can be unreliable at times.
The Grange is a community center located in a neighborhood that does have rules and restrictions. There are no open flames or fireworks allowed, no smoking (including the parking lot - you will have to go out to the sidewalk to smoke), no unruly or unreasonably loud behavior, and no pets. It is important that we adhere to these rules, otherwise, the event monitor could shut down our wedding if things get out of hand. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Parking is free at The Grange. Since the community pool is not open in April, there should not be an issue with spaces filling up.
Castle Rock has an array of affordable hotels to stay at such as, The Days Inn (also the Groome Shuttle drop off location), The Best Western, and Hampton Inn.
In April, the temperatures are generally in the 50s and 60s, although we have been prone to a few light snowfalls during this month. For those who are not used to driving in snow, the snow tends to be very light and doesn't stick to the ground in April, so there is a very low chance of losing traction when driving. Should it start to snow, just take your time, and drive slower than you usually do. There are outdoor and indoor heaters at our venue in the event of a snowfall.
