Great Italian coffee and treats -- located off the prettiest street in Birmingham, Morris Ave, and a quick jaunt from the downtown hotels we have recommended.
Super charming spot on Morris Ave for a snack & and afternoon beer (or Topo Chico if you’re tryin’ to behave)
Vibey Lebanese Bistro in a fun & flirty part of Birmingham, right off the rotary trail. Great for small plates and a glass of wine if you go exploring on Saturday! Ask for Rolando
Charming French Bistro. If the weather is nice, they have a perfect brunch patio
Our favorite Brunch spot for those who indulge!
One of (if not the best) restaurants in Birmingham & home to our 1st date. We recommend the warm biscuits for an elevated taste of Southern hospitality.
Chef Hastings is really the pride of Alabama. The James Beard award-winning restaurant is a neighborhood favorite offering the best ingredients and gracious service in a fine dining atmosphere. We love sitting at the chef's counter!
Chef Hasting's Ovenbird is one of our favorite spots in town -- their tapas & martinis are a perfect date night. If the weather permits, ask for outside seating and enjoy adventurous, globally inspired small plates. The restaurant pays some homage to the iron ore history of Birmingham, dating back two centuries. (& We highly recommend the beef fat candle)
An institution! This spot is our favorite party trick for out of town guests -- delicious and classically Greek. You might want to check a bag to bring home a couple bottles of their famous olive oil.
The most perfect bar in the world & where we first laid eyes on each other. A good ole watering hole with a retail wall of top shelf, hard-to-find liquors for purchase, this beloved watering hole has a homey dark-interior. You're guaranteed to make friends at Lou's.
An NYC-vibey bar hidden in an alleyway off Morris, the most beautiful street in Birmingham, with unique cocktails and world- class spirit selections
One of the vibiest whisky bars in the world - right here in Alabama. Pogo is nestled in the historic Armour & Co. building and pays homage to the building's Chicago meatpacking roots in the most beautiful ways -- classic charm meets modern sophistication. Indulge in signature drinks by passionate mixologists, with live jazz performances on the weekends.
Best spot for a night cap after a posh evening! This bar is funky - Elvis and Cookie Monster costumes, plus games, and typewriters.
The upstair's patio at Abhi is our go-to weeknight date. Sushi, ramen, and other Asian fusion dishes are served in an upscale, romantic space but it's casual enough that we don't have to perform. & The Surfhound is downstairs!
A darling, upbeat game day spot inspired by vintage surf culture- this establishment is one of our staples in Mountain Brook. Downstairs from Abhi!
Our cherished Sunday morning spot for ham & cheese croissants and lattes. The line can be a bit long if you queue after church lets out, but everyone is always in a good mood at Continental Bakery!
"The unspoiled beauty of Mountain Brook lends itself naturally to graciously living." - Robert Jemison. A morning walk here will have you entertaining a permanent move!
Our 3rd date -- While a smaller, regional museum, The Birmingham Museum of Art houses more than 29,000 paintings, sculpture, prints, drawings, and decorative arts dating from ancient to modern times. We find a viewing to be achievable before lunch!
Now a public course, Highland Park Golf Course was established in 1903 as the Country Club of Birmingham -- it is the oldest golf course in the state of Alabama. Fun fact - the legend Bobby Jones won the Birmingham Country Club Invitational at Highland Park in 1916 at the age of 14.
Margaret's beloved Pilates studio - they have elite machines & really fun classes if you're looking for a Saturday morning workout.
