No, the bride and groom have TWO SEPARATE VENUES. Please come to the Embassy Suites by Hilton: Hampton Hotel, Convention Center & Spa for the CEREMONY. Guests will transition to McGrew Towers and Conference Center on Hampton University's campus afterwards for the BRUNCH RECEPTION. The drive to the reception is only 10-15 minutes.
Guests should arrive at least thirty minutes prior to the ceremony. We will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. If you are not local (Newport News or Hampton), we recommend arriving the day before and booking a hotel. There is no guarantee that traffic will be smooth between tourists vacationing and endless interstate construction.
Guests may park anywhere on the hotel's premises for the ceremony. Parking is located next to the building for the reception. An usher may made be available to direct you, if necessary.
Yes. The Bride and Groom request that guests dress in semi-formal to formal attire (think “Sunday Best” for church). This special day will be photographed and viewed for years to come, so please dress accordingly.
Absolutely. Many guests have seasonal allergies and triggers like perfume, cologne, and cigarette smoke (including the bride and groom). Please be mindful of your pre-wedding preparation routines in order to make this event enjoyable for all.
In short, no. Only select children, who are in the immediate family of the Bride and Groom, will be able to attend. Invitations will, also, indicate how many people in a household may come. For instance, if your invitation says “Mr. John and Jane Doe plus two,” this means that your children are invited. If it does not, the invitation is solely for a single guest or a couple.
The Bride and Groom request that family and friends do not bring additional guests to the ceremony or reception. We have a strict guest list and venue capacity; additional people will not be permitted to enter at all. Invitations will indicate if an attendee may bring a “plus one” or additional guests.
We are registered at Macy’s, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Amazon, and Zola (of course). We, also, have a cash fund specifically with Zola that people are welcome to contribute to. All registries are conveniently on this site! Guests are not limited to the registries! They are merely suggestions. Any thoughtful gifts (including gift cards) are appreciated.

Yes, of course. However, we would prefer guests ask questions after going through all of the FAQs. Also, the bride and groom will not be receiving calls or texts the day of the ceremony. It will be a very business morning for them.
Yes. The ceremony and reception (although in different locations) are on the first floor. Those who are traveling with guests who have limited mobility may wish to check with the Embassy Suites regarding additional assistance (if they indeed provide any) or wheelchair availability. Please be prepared to assume primary responsibility for their transportation to and from the parking lot in the event the Embassy Suites is unable to provide the aforementioned services. Thank you.
