Kayla and Brent both work at WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital. Kayla has been with the hospital for 9 years and works in the HR department. Brent has been with the I.T. department for over 15 years. Although they both have been with the hospital for many years, their paths didn't cross until they were introduced by their coworkers Amanda Scammell, Mark Scammell and Shanna Herrick.

We took our first trip together to Hocking Hills on 11/2/2022. It was both of our first times being there. Although we were quickly falling for each other, this trip kind of sealed the deal. We learned a lot about each other. For example, when Brent drinks Flying Dog Bloodline Orange Ale he likes to serenade and dance to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Kings of Leon. Kayla maybe doesn't get proper details from her friends. For instance, our friends Amanda and Mark suggested we visit a restaurant named JB's but somehow Kayla directed us to go to JimBo's Burgers and Beer. We're not going to recommend JimBo's to you, but it was a memory we will never forget. We stayed in a Geodome at The Inn at Cedar Falls. We highly recommend this experience. Waking up to the sunrise in the morning shining into the Geodome was a wonderful experience. We walked many trails and did some site seeing. This was the first trip of many great experience together. Hocking Hills being our first trip together has a lot to do with why we chose the area to get married.

The proposal happened on 7/10/2024 at Emerald Isle Beach. Brent and Bentley covertly acquired the ring months prior to the proposal without Kayla even knowing. (Good job Bentley for keeping the secret). Brent originally planned to propose during our family pictures, but the weather wasn't looking promising so he improvised. Kayla, Brent and Bentley ended up taking a walk on the beach in the evening together. Kayla had no idea that Brent was carrying the ring in his pocket during the walk. As they were turning around to head back to the beach house, Brent said "there's one more thing we need to do before we go back." Brent got down on one knee and asked Kayla to marry him. She of course said "Yes!!!!!!!!". They were all filled with joy and tears of happiness.
