Rental cars in Alaska are very limited, we recommend booking one as soon as possible! Prices for both cars and plane tickets will increase dramatically in price once summer starts, so we recommend booking everything before May.
The drive from Anchorage to Homer is beautiful! If you’re not familiar with Alaska, it is absolutely worth the drive. There are many stops to make along the way.
Alaska has very variable weather and we recommend coming prepared for both rain and shine. Daytime can range from 50-70 degrees, and night can go all the way down to 40 degrees. The sun doesn’t set until around 8:30 pm so there will be about 14 hours of daylight!
