We met at an event on the 4th of July, 2011 at the Lincoln Cottage in DC. He was one of the chef's showcasing his cheese and she was one of the guests eating all the cheese. Plenty of drinks and food were had throughout the night and eventually he thought it a good idea to put her on his shoulders for a better view of the fireworks. Despite letting her fall to the ground they eventually went on a first date and dated for a couple of months. Years later, during the Covid-19 pandemic they rekindled, this time in San Diego, CA and here they are today.

Brent was driving cross-country to move to DC, he was expected to arrive on a Tuesday. The prior Sunday, Claudia's family had planned a brunch at her place, she was relentlessly trying to get out of it with no success. Her family arrived to the brunch, she was in yoga pants and a Henley while everyone was in their Sunday best. Her brother in law (Tom) made an excuse to take Brooklyn (the dog) out and when he came up, he knocked on the door. She opened and saw Brent standing there with Revan (our pup), she was in shock! He was nervous as he recited a written out speech. Next thing you know, he was down on one knee and she said YES! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
