We first met at work working on the same line on different teams. He is a huge Miami Hurricanes fan and I am a UGA Bulldogs fan. I would watch the Miami games just to have something to say to him the next time I saw him. He was just so cute to look at and even more to speak to! He transferred to a different line in a different building. I was asked to move to that building but on a different line. I would go and purposefully ask everyone on his team if they needed anything (mainly so I could see him and his breathtaking smile😃). He sent me a text message and asked me to help him find a part for his line one day. I asked him to help me throw a really heavy motor away (partly because the motor was to heavy for me to pick up, but also because I would get to sit next to him on the golf cart😊). Many Phone calls, lunch dates, road trips😉, text messaging back and forth, cheesy grins and "eye" googling back and forth for a year...HERE WE ARE! Neither of us knowing or realizing how lost we were without each other.
Little history: I went to go live with my grandmother when I was 13 after my mother passed away. She has a beautiful home on Lake Blackshear with an in ground pool that I don't have a single childhood memory without! I lived in the water as a child and LOVE to swim now, especially there 🤗. Brent and I took Shane up to swim because he got out of school early from field day. I wanted to spend some quality time with Shane while Miranda was still in school. Well, I threw the plastic sinking rings in for Shane to retrieve. He did it once and was tired and hungry so he went inside. I threw three rings in the pool and Brent went and collected them and then swam back to me and I said "okay! It's my turn!". I was swimming with my back towards him to the steps to wait my turn and he said "okay, which ring do you want me to throw?" I said "throw the white one because I am up for the challenge!" As I was saying that I turned to look at him and he had the plastic rings in one hand and the engagement ring in the other. When I saw it, he got down on one knee!!! He said (he had sunglasses on, but I heard it in his voice and could tell his eyes were tearing up!) "I love you so much" and I couldn't wait another second to kiss him! He had to say "will you marry me?" Between our kisses!!! I said "Yes! Yes! Yes! Of course!" There may be many details a little blurry, because I was so happy I was shaking! I am pretty sure I was flying! I ran inside and told my grandma and she said "Oh i'm so happy for you! You know he came in here and asked me for my blessing and approval to marry you? I thought that was so sweet! That's the prettiest ring I have ever seen!" I cried like a baby when she told me that. My grandma has been so much more like a mother over the years and I always have a piece of my mother with me through her. For Brent to go to her first was just.....divine. I honestly believe my mom and Brent's dad got together in heaven with God and brought us together!
