I moved down to Dallas, much to my mother’s dismay, to have fun for a few more years in my mid-twenties before I moved back to Oklahoma to settle down. I met Brent about 6 months after that when my girlfriends and I ended up backed into the same corner of a little bar as Brent and his friend and groomsman, Todd Canterelle. They started talking to my roommate and bridesmaid, Haley, and she suddenly leans over to me and says, "Katie you've got to meet this guy. He's so funny!" It took about three times for her to convince me to chime into the conversation and about three minutes for her to slowly back away, like a good girlfriend does, so Brent and I could talk some more. The girls that I came with moved on to another bar and no one could pry me away from talking to Brent. We talked for a while, exchanged numbers, he gave me a little kiss and he put me in an Uber back to my apartment. I immediately texted my girlfriends back in Oklahoma and told them I had met someone. He was different, caring, funny, and I was actually really excited about this one. He text me the next day and the rest of my life began! My favorite thing about Brent and I's story is that it isn't complicated. We met by happenstance, we fell in love, and we knew we wanted to be together! There are some minor details in between and to be determined later, but I cannot wait to navigate our lives together.

The first time I met Katie, I never thought that I would fall so far in love with this woman. We met in a bar in the middle of December. I like to think she fell for me because I was so hilarious that night, but it had to be more than that. After our first night, I immediately asked her out again, and after each date, I felt closer and closer to this wonderful woman. I’ve loved my life with Katie and enjoyed our many trips between Napa, Oklahoma, and Texas. Katie’s family has been nothing but great to me and I know my family absolutely loves and adores Katie. I know that the next chapter of our life is going to be something special and I’m lucky and blessed to experience it with Katie.
