In 2023, Veronica and Matt took their first overseas trip together to Japan with a group of friends, and instantly fell in love with the food, the sights, and the culture. On the plane ride back to Albuquerque, they were already dreaming about going back. Little did Veronica know, Matt had already picked out the perfect spot to ask the question on their next trip. In 2025, Matt proposed on top of Shibuya Sky, overlooking all of Tokyo at night. He promised a lifetime of adventures together. We couldn’t imagine saying “I do” anywhere else in the world, and are so excited to celebrate and share one of our favorite places with our friends and family.

When Veronica was looking for a part time job for her senior year of high school, her mom suggested she apply to Pet Vet Market. “There’s a cute boy working there that helped us with the dog wash and he seems really nice,” she told Veronica one day. As it turns out, moms do know best. While waiting for the interview, Veronica (in her typical Capricorn nature) was focused on overthinking and preparing her responses when Matt appeared. He instantly distracted her, made her laugh, and calmed her nerves. While she walked out of the store, he smiled and held the door for her and an intrusive thought appeared, seemingly out of nowhere “I’m gonna marry him someday.” The two ended up working together at the quiet second location. They spent hours getting to know each other, bonding over their music taste, shared sense of humor, and life experiences. In November 2014, they went on their first date together: a Pierce the Veil and Sleeping with Sirens concert. The rest was history: they spent years building a life and a home together, complete with 2 wonderful dogs: Chaco and Tux.
