Whiskey Row
Wander around historic downtown Prescott and visit the town square framed by Victorian architecture, boutique shops, art galleries, and cozy cafés. Whiskey Row, once lined with more than 40 saloons, is still the heart of Prescott’s nightlife and cowboy history. Stop into The Palace Restaurant & Saloon, Arizona’s oldest bar, for a drink and a taste of the Old West. Families can enjoy live music, festivals, and seasonal events right on the Courthouse Plaza. This Meadery is world-renowned (seriously) and one of our favorite places to enjoy a drink! (21+)
Thumb Butte
For sweeping mountain views, hike the Thumb Butte Trail, a moderately challenging 1.75-mile loop. It’s a great way to experience Prescott’s natural beauty and spot wildlife such as deer, hawks, and seasonal wildflowers. This is one of our go-to hikes!
Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary
If you’re traveling with kids, Heritage Park Zoo is one of the top family-friendly attractions in Prescott AZ. This wildlife sanctuary is home to rescued animals including bears, leopards, wolves, and reptiles. Open year-round, it offers special programs and interactive experiences perfect for all ages.
Watson Lake
One of the most photographed natural attractions near Prescott, Watson Lake is surrounded by towering granite rock formations known as The Dells. Visitors can kayak, paddleboard, fish, rock climb, hike or bike the scenic loop trail. It’s a favorite spot for birdwatching and sunrise photography as well!
