In the Summer of 2015, Brenna wanted to get a "fun job" before heading into the real world, so she applied to the local Minor League Baseball team, the Lowell Spinners. She joined the Spinners staff and quickly had a new group of baseball friends. Connor was interning at the time and although there was many post game outings they didn't officially meet until the next summer. You could say this love story started out as a ground ball, slowly turning into a home run. Luckily the friends Brenna made at the Spinners the previous summer, Abby Wolnik, and her high school friend, Jackie Steele, all got an apartment together. Although three girls can do anything, having some extra hands to move their couch up a flight of stairs was needed, and there enters Connor which has them officially meeting in Brenna's first apartment. After a hot June day of moving, there was Brenna and Connor, tired and sweaty while enjoying Chinese food and beer unknowingly that in two years their friendship would turn into something more.
Summer 2020 was already one to remember, but Connor had big plans and didn't want to let a mere pandemic get in the way. In June, Connor told his family that he was planning on proposing to Brenna, and then he asked for the blessing from Brenna's mother and siblings, and with Brenna's sisters by his side, Connor took the band from her late Nana's ring and made a new beautiful engagement ring. On August 2nd, they took a drive to Brenna's favorite spot, York, ME, and took a cruise around Nubble Lighthouse. While on the water, Connor got down on one and knee and popped the question! It was perfect and beautiful and was followed by lots of champagne!
